Officiating were the Rev. Dennis LaFleur, and Rev. Guy Murphrey, with interment following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Stanley. Mr. Goins, 80, of the Stanley community, died Thursday, Aug. 21, following a lengthy time of handicap and illness. He had been a resident of DeSoto Parish for 40 years, a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, and a veteran of World War II. Mr. Goins was preceded in death by his father and brother. He is survived by mother, Mary Ann Goins; wife of 52 years, Ruth Weldon Goins; one son, James Goins of Logansport; two daughters, Janet Goins Wilson and husband Pete of Mooringsport, Paula Goins Bradley of Longview, Texas; four grandchildren, Danette Wilson French and husband Chad of Blytheville, Ark., Kenneth Wilson and wife Misty of Hosston, Misty Wilson of Bossier City, Jereme Bradley of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Virgie Bray and husband Willard of Zwolle; four great grandchildren, Clint and Megan Wilson, and Samuel, and Sarah Beth French. Pallbearers were Morris Fletcher, Lamar Nix, Bob Gingles, David Caston, Reuben Bryant, and Mark Murphrey.
