Gauntt, 58, died in Confederate Memorial Hospital in Shreveport, on Friday, Sept. 16, at 4 p.m. Survivors include two sons, Doug Gauntt of Many, and Weyland Gauntt of Converse; one daughter, Mrs. Sue Strickland of Anacoco; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Adams of Belmont, and Mrs. Corinne Elliott of Stonewall; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Noble Baptist Church on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. Officiating were the Rev. Phillip Tisdale, the Rev. Shannon Ogle, and the Rev. Jerry Schmucker. Burial was in the Noble Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Crawford Roberts, William Elliott, James Elliott, Elton Pierce, Tim Leonard, and Charles Maxey.
