The Rev. Jimmy Milam, assisted by Bro. Troy Wheeler, officiated. Mr. Gandy, an employee of the Odeco Offshore Drilling Co., has been declared one of the missing persons of the disaster that occurred Monday, Feb. 15, on the offshore of Newfoundland. Mr. Gandy, a native of Bellwood, had been a resident of Longstreet for 9 years, and a member of the Longstreet Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Freddie Mae Gandy; daughter, Darla R. Gandy; two sons, Terry G. Gandy, and George M. Gandy; stepmother, Mrs. Lettie Gandy of Natchitoches; three sisters, Orene Birdwell of Marthaville, Mrs. Dorothy Dowden of Kisatchie, and Mrs. Lois Gregory of Sulphur. The family requests any memorial contributions be made to the Longstreet Baptist Church Building Fund, or the charity of your choice.
