Jewel Gandy

  Services for Miss Jewel Gandy, 71, of Shreveport, were held at 2
p.m., Sunday, Sept. 18, at Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel.
Dr. Cliff Estes, pastor of Willow Point Baptist Church, where
Miss Gandy was a member, officiated. Burial was at Mount Carmel
Cemetery in Mount Carmel, La.

  She died Friday, Sept. 16, 1983, at Willis-Knighton Medical
Center, after a brief illness. Miss Gandy, born in Mount Carmel,
La., and a resident of Shreveport since 1930, was a retired
registered nurse, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center. She is
survived by one sister, Mrs. Gladys G. Carter of Negreet, La.;
and one brother, Willie Gandy of Mount Carmel, La.
