Gandy, 70, of Shreveport, were held at 1 p.m., Monday, July 31, at Rose-Neath's Marshall St. Chapel. Officiating was the Rev. E. E. Walker, pastor of Oak Hill Baptist Church, Many. Burial will be in Forest Park. Mrs. Gandy, a native of Many, and a resident of Shreveport most of her life, was a member of the First Baptist Church. She died Sunday, July 30, after a lengthy illness. She was retired from the Caddo Parish Tax Assessor's Office, after 32 years. Mrs. Gandy was preceded in death by her parents, W. C. and Lender Anderson. Survivors include her husband, Guy M. Gandy of Shreveport; daughter, Mrs. Patricia Gandy Waddell of Shreveport; grandchildren, Kevin, and Lisa Waddell of Shreveport; sisters, Mrs. Arlene Pilcher, Mrs. Opal Marr, and Mrs. Kathryn Carter, all of Many; brothers, George Anderson of Shreveport, and Kenneth Anderson, and Rufus H. Anderson, both of Many. Pallbearers were her nephews, Larry Marr, Carl Leroy Pilcher, George Earl Anderson, Jimmie Don Anderson, Terry Carter, Kenny Carter, Clint Anderson, and Kerry Anderson. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
