Mrs. Effie Majestic Gandy

  Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Majestic Gandy, 78, of Mt.
Carmel, who passed away in Alexandria Friday, Jan. 24, following
an extended illness, were held in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church
Sunday, Jan. 26, with the Rev. J. C. Edwards officiating.

  She is survived by a son, Frank Majestic of Lake Charles; a
daughter, Mrs. Mable Collins of Gadsden, Ala.; two brothers, W.
R. Alford of Bellwood, and Ed Alford of Provencal; two sisters,
Mrs. Kate Coburn of Mexico, and Mrs. Maude Cobb of Shreveport;
and seven grandchildren.

  Interment was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, under the direction of
the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Pallbearers were David Young, Grady Ricks, S. M. Cole, H. V.
Hyatt, J. B. Ricks, and Rufus Corley.
