Mrs. Mamie Gandy

  Mrs. Mamie Gandy, 71, died at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in
Alexandria, Nov. 3, after an extended illness.

  Surviving relatives include a son, Eddie Gandy of Many; five
daughters, Mrs. Gladys Wilcox of Irving, Tex., Mrs. Erna Lech of
Texarkana, Ark., Mrs. Mary Alice Jeter of Zwolle, Mrs. Evelyn
Schleveter, and Mrs. Geraldine Strickland of Leesville; two
sisters, Mrs. Bobby Cryer of Many, and Mrs. Opal Long of
Alexandria, Va.; a brother, Allen McLendon of Florien; and 15
grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held at Beulah Baptist Church, Nov. 4,
with the Rev. Lionell Crowell of Leesville officiating. Burial
was in the Beulah Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows
Funeral Home of Many.
