Funeral services were held at the Oak Hill Baptist Church, Sunday, March 13, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Jeff Tidwell, Rev. Tom McDaniel, and the Rev. Hoy Leach officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Surviving relatives are his wife, Mrs. Sarah Gentry of Many; one son, John Irwin Gentry of Many; two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Sue Walker of Many, and Mrs. Bonnie Frances Free of Shreveport; two brothers, Arthur E. Gentry of Hot Springs, Ark., and Marshall Gentry of Many; three half brothers, Edmund Gentry of Lufkin, Tex., Ivison Gentry of New Orleans, and L. C. Gentry of Arkansas; six half sisters, Mrs. LaRue Baldwin, Mrs. Margie Tarver, and Mrs. Grace Brock, all of Lufkin, Tex., Mrs. Alta Watts of Porter, Tex., Mrs. Lottie Dodson of Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Luvenia Peveto of Beaumont, Tex., and 11 grandchildren.
