Gentry (Photo) Funeral services for Mr. Bruce H. Gentry, 78, of Shreveport, were held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, at 2 p.m., Friday, March 1, 1996. The Rev. Douglas Burnley of Janet Lane Baptist Church, officiated. Burial followed at Centuries Memorial Park, with full military honors. Mr. Gentry died Tuesday, Feb. 27, at L.S.U. Medical Center in Shreveport. He was a native of Zwolle, and lived in Shreveport for over 30 years. Mr. Gentry was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, retiring after 20 years, at the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a member of the V. F. W., the American Legion, and volunteered as a clown for the AT&T Pioneers, and was a member of Janet Lane Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mrs. Virginia L. Gentry of Shreveport; four daughters, Katherine Sander of Keithville, Eleanor B? Kirk of Pensacola, Fla., Marsha Isom of Alvin, Texas, and Patricia Amey of Los Angeles; two sons, Thomas D. Gentry of Korea, and Paul M. Gentry of Shreveport. He is also survived by two sisters, Ponee Kaufman of Bossier City, and Marcline Houston of Shreveport; a brother, Carlton Gentry of Grand Cane; eight grandsons; one granddaughter; two great grandsons; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Janet Lane Baptist Church General Fund.
