Gore Mr. Marquette "M. A." Gore, 75, of Florien died at his residence Thursday, March 19 at 1:05 p.m. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (Ward 2) with interment following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery (Ward 2). The Rev. J. D. Brown and the Rev. Larry DeLoach officiated. Graveside services were conducted by the Masonic Order. Survivors include one child, Linda G. Sterling and husband, Willis "Bill" of Florien; one sister, Blanch Farris of Orange, Texas; three grandchildren, Paul W. Swindle and wife, Stacy; Geri L. Alford and husband, Ryan; and Candace Funderburk and husband, Chris, all of Florien; eight great-grandchildren, Maelynn, Jacob and Haley Swindle, Eric, Allison and Katelynn Alford, Coby Chreene Funderburk and Carly Funderburk; 10 step great-grandchildren, Alisha and Bryan Chreene; Samantha, Christopher, Garrett and Elanea Sterling; Whitney and Brandi Lee and Susan and Carl Ray; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Gore was preceded in death by his wife, Mane Miller Gore; two sons, Jimmy Lynn and Jerry Allison Gore; parents, Mack Allison Gore and Docia Erwin Busby Gore; two brothers; and two sisters. Pallbearers were Darryl Miller, Chris Funderburk, Alvin Guy, Lany Maddox, Theddie Ray Miller, Ryan Alford, Gilbert Sterling and Tommy Dahlem. Honorary pallbearers were Eric Alford, Jacob Swindle, Garrett Sterling, Bryan Chreene, Coby Chreene Funderburk and Christopher Sterling. Warren Meadows Many, La.
