Marie M. Gore

  Funeral services for Marie M. Gore, 70, of Florien, were held
Monday, Dec. 9, 1996, at 2 p.m., at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church
in the Toro Community. Officiating was Rev. J. D. Brown, and Rev.
Roy Dowden. Interment was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, under the
direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Mrs. Gore died Saturday, Dec. 7, at her residence.

  She was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Lynn, and Jerry
Allison Gore; parents, Marvin Miller, and Teressa Vidler Miller;
two brothers; and five sisters.

  Mrs. Gore is survived by her husband of 51 years, Marquette A.
Gore of Florien; daughter, Linda S. Sterling and her husband
Willis L. Sterling of Florien; sister, Wiladean Mullens of
Florien; brother, Theddie R. Miller of Walker. She is also
survived by three grandchildren, Paul W., and Stacy Swindel, Geri
L., and Ryan Alford, Candice, and Chris Funderburk, all of
Florien; seven great grandchildren, Maelynn, Jacob, and Haley
Swindle, Eric, and Allison Alford, Coby Chreene Funderburk, and
Carley Funderburk; eight step great grandchildren, Alisha, and
Bryan Chreene, Samantha, Christopher, Garrett, and Elanea
Sterling, and Whitney, and Brandi Lee.

  Pallbearers were Roy Miller, Sidney Sterling, Alvin Guy, Daryl
Miller, Harold Chapman, and Willis Alford.

  Honorary pallbearers were Willie Dewil, Pat Nelson, Joe Dewil,
Vel Webber, Charlie Gray, and John Crunk.
