Graves, 78, of Bastrop, died Aug. 24, at 2:45 p.m., after a short illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 26, at 3 p.m., at Springridge Methodist Church. Interment was at Springridge Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Masonic Rites were held at the graveside, and the Masons were pallbearers. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrl H. Graves of Bastrop; sons, Vernice L. of Natchitoches, Raymond of Shreveport, and Howard F. of Marthaville; stepsons, Cleo Edgar of Shreveport, Clifford Edgar of Little Rock, and Jimmy Edgar of Crossett, Ark. Also daughters, Mesdames Bertha Rumley, and Mildred Wells, Bastrop, Bertie Wyatt, and Ruth Lilley, Shreveport, Mrs. Lela Kane, Houston, Thelma Rice, Sacramento, Calif., and Clara Walton, Little Rock, Ark. Stepdaughters are Mesdames Helen Isaac, Reva Johnson, and Verba Reynolds, Crossett, Ark., and Geneva Norwell of Scottsdale, Ariz. Brothers are H. G. Graves of Bastrio, Horace Graves, Haughton, and William Graves, Pleasant Hill. Mrs. Alice Moutrey, Leesville, and Mrs. Mabell Almun, Norphlet, Ark., are sisters.
