Garcie Services for Mr. Marion H. "Jerry" Garcie, 52, of Shreveport, were held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 9, at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. The Rev. Douglas Burnley, former pastor of Janet Lane Baptist Church, and the Rev. James Henderson officiated. Burial was in Centuries Memorial Park. Mr. Garcie, a heavy equipment operator with United Gas Pipeline, died at 5:25 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1983, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center, after a long illness. He was born in Noble, La., had lived in Shreveport most of his life, and was a member of the Janet Lane Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty Garcie; a son, Gordon Garcie; and a daughter, Donna Arnold of Shreveport; four sisters, Lavern Flint of Newport News, Va., Marie Ebarb of Beaumont, Texas, Dorothy Dalton of Shreveport, Bobby Glover of Mansfield, La.; two brothers, Floyd Garcie of Texarkana, Texas, Joe Garcie of Taylor, Ark.; two grandchildren, Steven, and Brandon. Pallbearers were John Hunter, Jerry Burns, Huey Dalton, Arthur Bagley, Steve Wyatt, James Love.
