Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 30, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with interment following at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery. Father David Richter officiated. Survivors include two daughters, Elouise D. Williamson and husband Joe of Benton, and Virginia Ann Vines of Florrisant, Mo.; three sisters, Lillie Coleman of Benton, Selena Ebarb of Shreveport, and Elva Ebarb of Zwolle; four brothers, George Remedes of Rhode Island, James Remedes of Shreveport, Chester Remedes of Keithville, and Raymond Remedes of Zwolle; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Mrs. Garcie was preceded in death by her husband, George Garcie; parents, Joe and Elida Remedes; one son, George Joseph Garcie; two brothers; and two sisters. Special thanks to the staff at Westwood Heritage Manor for their love and care. Also a very special thanks to Willis Knighton, Piermont, and Hospice of Shreveport.
