Father Richard J. Lombard, pastor of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, where Mrs. Garcie was a member, officiated. Burial was at Forest Park West Cemetery. Mrs. Garcie, a homemaker, and resident of Shreveport since 1955, died Tuesday, November 4, 1986, at LSU Medical Center, after a sudden illness. She was born in Noble, La. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Earl W. Garcie of Shreveport; five sons, J. W. Garcie of Shreveport, Robert Earl Garcie of Bossier City, Joseph Paul Garcie of Longview, Tex., Charles Ray Garcie of West Virginia, George Theodore Garcie of Austin, Tex.; one daughter, Elizabeth Sterling of Shreveport; two sisters, Gladys Tribble of Haughton, and Essie Garcie of Bell, Calif.; two brothers, Sam Garza of Sarepta, and George Garza of Beaumont, Tex.; a number of grandchildren, and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were her grandsons.
