Officiating was Bro. Victor Reagan, pastor of United Pentecostal Church, assisted by Rev. Jerry Wayne George, nephew. Mr. George passed away Tuesday, June 11, after a lengthy illness. He was born in St. Augustine, and was a resident of Stonewall. Mr. George retired from Mansfield Battle Park Museum, after 10 1/2 years of service. He was a member of United Pentecostal Church. He was preceded in death by his sons, D. C. Truly, and DeWayne; and daughter-in-law, Suzette. Survivors include his wife, Marie Miller George of Shreveport; son, Joe George and wife Sherrie of Haughton; two sisters, Nora Davis of Shreveport, and Helen Pugh of Mansfield; four brothers, M. G. George of Shreveport, Albert George of Marthaville, Luther George of Saxton, Mo., and Ray George of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Brandi, Chris, and Ashley; ex daughter-in-law, Shelly Renee Whitaker Batchelor; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Chris George, Marion Jackson, Rodney Burr, George Burr, Randy Hammertree, and Gene Marshall.
