Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 4, at Lewis Chapel Pentecostal Church in Marthaville, with interment following at Mitchell Cemetery in Mitchell Community. The Rev. Roland Dwayne George, pastor of Lewis Chapel Pentecostal Church, officiated. Mrs. George was born Sept. 25, 1924, to James and Hattie Wedgeworth of Fort Jesup. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Alert S. George Sr. of Marthaville; two sons, Glen George and wife Priscilla of Leesville, and James George and wife Gaile of Ebarb; three daughters, Betty Perry of Florien, Margaret Barnhardt and husband Nick of Rylie, Texas, and Sally Pennington and husband Howard of Many; three sisters, Betty Ray Addison and husband Robert of Keithville, Rose Broadnax and husband Archie of Alexandria, and Jane Cory and husband Phil of Lynes, Kan.; two brothers, Jim Wedgeworth and wife Mabel of Center, Texas, and Huey P. Wedgeworth and wife Faye of Shreveport; 34 grandchildren; and 32 great grandchildren. Mrs. George was preceded in death by son, Albert S. George Jr.; two great grandsons; and one great granddaughter. Pallbearers were Paul Pennington, Donald Behan, Darrell Simmons, Ernest Mitchell, Glen Westfall, James Perry, Kevin Lewis, and Rodney Burr. Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Many, La.
