W. Poimboeuf, Sabine Parish Coroner, Sunday afternoon. Garcie died as the result of gunshot wound from a .32 cal. pistol. The only witness, Mary Garcie, his wife, at first told officers he had shot himself, but later told the investigators that they were fighting near the parked car, when he attempted to choke and hit her. She apparently grabbed the gun and shot him. She has been charged with manslaughter, and bond was set at $3,500. Investigation officers were Sabine Parish Sheriff's Deputies Travis Bennett, and Floyd Terrell, Zwolle Marshal Quinton Brandon, and State Trooper Lee Raymond Isgitt.
