  John Dewey Gregory, Jr.

  Services for Mr. John Dewey Gregory, Jr., 65, of Pleasant Hill
were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, at the Pleasant Hill
First Baptist Church with the Rev. Vernon Stephenson and the Rev.
Stephen Pyle officiating. Burial was at the Pleasant Hill
Cemetery at Pleasant Hill, La.

  Mr. Gregory died Sunday, September 4, 1988, at his resident
following a short illness. He was a World War II Veteran Post
#300, a Shriner for many years and a member of the Pleasant Hill
First Baptist Church. He was a teacher at Pleasant Hill High
School for 15 years, a principal at Pleasant Hill High School for
12 years and at present he was a School Board Member for 10
years.

  He is survived by his wife, Mary Woodard Gregory of Pleasant
Hill; two daughters, Jean Gregory Nees of Springfield, Va., Susan
Gregory of Lafayette, La.; his father, Mr. John Dewey Gregory,
Sr. of Pleasant Hill; two brothers, Jere Gregory of Pleasant
Hill, Thomas H. Gregory of Mansfield, La.; two grandchildren,
Dustin Gregory Harris and Leandra Dawn Nees; a host of nieces,
nephews and friends.

  Pallbearers were his nephews. Honorary pallbearers were members
of the School Board.
