Green Funeral services were held at 4 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 25, at the Pine Croft Baptist Church, for Shreveport Police Sgt. Narvie M. Green, 53, of Shreveport, who was found shot to death with his wife, Tuesday afternoon, at their apartment. He was a native of Pleasant Hill, and joined the police department in 1955. He was named Policeman of the Year in 1965, by the Exchange Club. He had recently been working as a patrol sergeant on the midnight shift, and was also a security guard at the Brighton Manor. Mrs. Green worked as a deputy in the office of City Marshal John Edgar. They were married in September. Survivors include two sons, E. G. Green, and David M. Green, both of Shreveport; a daughter, Mrs. Francis M. Jordan of New Orleans; two brothers, Raymond O. Green of Shreveport, and Hoyt Green of Yakima, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Terrell of Pleasant Hill, and Mrs. Elaine Tamuro of Delhi, and six grandchildren. The Rev. Jerry Schmucker, pastor of the Pine Croft Baptist Church, officiated at services. Burial was at Forest Park Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
