Gerami Funeral services for Thomas J. Gerami of Alexandria, were held in the Chapel of Hixson brothers, Alexandria, on Monday, May 15, at 10 a.m. Msgr. Ronald Hoppe, and Dr. Larry Taylor officiated at the services. Interment followed in the Alexandria Memorial Gardens. Mr. Gerami, 73, died at 5:30 p.m., Friday, May 12, in Rapides General Hospital in Alexandria. A native of Plaquemine, he was a member of the St. Frances Cabrini Church, and owner and operator of Gerami's Antiques and Furniture. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. Survivors include his widow, Gerri Gerami of Alexandria; one son, Victor Gerami of Alexandria; three daughters, Carol Swilley of Monroe, Janet Caldwell of Shreveport, and Jennifer McElveen of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Robert Pete of Pineville, and Eugene Pete of New Iberia; four sisters, Margaret Jenkins of Kissimmee, Fla., Victoria Hagan, Doris Burke, and Dorothy LeBlanc, all of New Iberia; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. A Christian wake was hosted on Sunday, May 14, at 6 p.m.
