Johnny Green

  Johnny Green, 11, of Shreveport, apparently drowned Sunday
afternoon, near Toledo Bend dam, about 30 miles north of here,
according to the Newton County Sheriff's Dept.

  Newton Deputy Sheriff Jesse Lewis stated that the youth was
swimming when he stepped off into water 40 feet deep.

  Rescue units from Newton, Deweyville, and Leesville, La., began
dragging operations, and recovered the youth's body about 8:45
p.m.

  Green was the son of Mrs. Colis Green of 4905 Ralph Pl.,
Shreveport.

  Lewis said the youth was on an outing with his parents, when the
incident occurred.

  The deputy said no other information was available.
