Allen Leamon Garner, 73, of Florien, died Friday, Oct. 15, after a long illness. Funeral services were held at the 12th District No. 3 Auditorium, Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. R. McNeal, the Rev. M. Charles the Rev. Lee Collier, the Rev. Racie Medlock, and the Rev. D. A. Jones officiating. Interment was in the Pilgrim Star Cemetery, under the direction of the Jenkins Funeral Home in Many. Survivors include his wife, Long Ree Garner; 10 children, Mrs. Ester L. Brown, Mrs. Hazel Grace, Mr. Seamon Garner, Mr. Loyal Garner, and Mr. Howard Garner, all of Florien, Mrs. Addie R. Garner of DeRidder, Mrs., Mary Salter of Orange, Tex., Mr. Bobbie J. Garner, Mr. Emmitt Garner, Mr. Melvin J. Garner, all of Dallas, Tex., a step-mother, 4 sisters, 3 brothers, 49 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
