All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ Richard (Buddie) Gromer Services for Richard (Buddie) Gromer were held at Warren Meadows Chapel in Many, on January 30, with Masonic graveside services at Memorial Parker Cemetery in New Iberia, on February 1. Buddie was born in Maxell, Oklahoma, April 21, 1922, and died at his home on Toledo Bend, January 28, at age 68. He was a surveyor for Amerada Petroleum Corp. for 27 years, in the exploration department, and his work took him all over the United States. Exploration was terminated in 1971, and he and his wife Carroll moved to Toledo Bend, and developed Tranquility Bay Marina, which he owned for five years, before selling to retire there, where he continued to enjoy fishing, gardening, and good friends for 15 years. In addition to his wife Carroll, he is survived by sons, Jack Gromer and wife Becky of Baton Rouge, Don Gromer and wife Judy; and 2 granddaughters, Mindy, and Lindsay of New Iberia; one brother, Ray Gromer and wife Wilma of Hobart, Oklahoma; one sister, Marjorie Russell and husband Joe of Winter Park, Florida; mother-in-law, Buddy Foltz of Hobbs, New Mexico, as well as several nieces and nephews.
