Garner Funeral services for Mr. James T. Garner, age 68, of Many, were held Saturday, November 6, 1993, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, with the Rev. Clois Rodgers officiating. Burial was in New Jerusalem Cemetery, under the direction of Thomas Mortuary. He leaves to mourn his death, four sons, James T. Garner Jr., Edward Garner of Houston, Texas, Timothy Garner, also of Houston, Texas, Ronald J. Garner of Littleton, Colo.; three daughters, Betty Rose Carter of Dallas, Texas, Edith Marie Hoyte of Ft. Stewart, Georgia, Melba Joyce Pope of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Rainie Williams of DeRidder, La., Nettie Morris, Many, La.; two brothers, Frank Garner, and Willie Garner of Many, La.; two daughters-in-law, Diane Garner of Houston, Texas, Andrietta Garner of Littleton, Colo.; three sons-in-law, Arthur Lee Pope of Houston, Texas, Gregory L. Carter of Dallas, Texas, George Anthony Hoyte of Ft. Stewart, Georgia; two brothers-in-law, Ben Sweet of Many, La., Doug Williams of DeRidder, La.; two sisters-in-law, Mary Emma Garner, VeElla Garner of Many, La.; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Betty Garner; three brothers, Rollie, Lonnie, and John Garner; four sisters, Daisy Forman, Izora Pierce, Pearl Maxie, and Gertrude Sweet.
