Rev. Clois Rodgers officiated. Burial was held in New Jerusalem Cemetery. Thomas Mortuary was in charge. Mr. Garner departed this life Tuesday, August 10, at his home in Many. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, VeElla Bush Garner; two sons, John V. Garner Jr. of Dallas, Tex., and Billy R. Garner of Cedar Hills, Tex.; a daughter, Malvia Garner Albert of Baton Rouge; thirteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; two sisters, Nettie Morris of Many, and Rainie Williams of DeRidder; three brothers, Frank Garner, Willie Garner, and James Garner, all of Many; two daughters-in-law, Francis Garner, Cedar Hills, Tex., and Mildred Garner of Dallas, Tex.; a son-in-law, Mitchell Albert Jr. of Baton Rouge; two brothers-in-law, Freely Bush of Dallas, Tex., and Ben Sweet of Many; a sister-n-law, Mary Emma Garner of Many; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Betty Garner; two brothers, Rollie, and Lonnie Garner; four sisters, Daisy Forman, Izora Pierce, Pearl Maxie, and Gertrude Sweet.
