Hope, 63, were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 12, in Singer Pentecostal Church. The Rev. Woody Gunnels, and Jerry Miller officiated. Burial was in Hyatt Cemetery, under the direction of Snider Funeral Home, with full military rites. Mr. Hope died at 8:18 p.m., Jan. 9th, at the Ft. Polk Hospital. A native of Cushing, Okla., he had lived in Singer, La. 30 years. At the time of his death, he had resided in the Toledo Bend area for almost 2 years. He was a U.S. Army medic for 21 years, with the rank of Sergeant 1st class. He reserved the Vietnam and Korean Combat Medic Badge, and the Army Commendation Medal for war valor. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had worked as a dispensary employee at the Louisiana Correctional and Industrial School in DeQuincy, La. Survivors are his wife, Liz Hope of Zwolle; three daughters, Carolyn Nelson, and Brenda Chambers of DeQuincy, and Anita Cooper of Singer; one stepdaughter, Vicki Auetemeyt of Sulphur; one son, Gilbert Hall of Denham Springs; three step sons, Tracy Stephens of Alexandria, Randy Stephens of Baton Rouge, and Donald Cooper of Lake Charles; one brother, Murl Hope of Columbia, S. C.; and one sister, Mildred Miller of Yucca Valley, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
