He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Floyd Jordan American Post No. 172. Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m., in the Middle Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Avon Cavanaugh, and the Rev. Marvin Brown officiating. burial was in the Antioch Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lurena Hopkins of Forien; two sons, Malcolm B. Hopkins of Jackson, Miss., and Robert J. Hopkins of Decatur, Ala.; two daughters, Mrs. James R. Cook of Florien, and Mrs. John S. Pickett, Jr. of Many; one brother, Jeff Hopkins of Florien; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Hughes, Mrs. Laura Owens, and Mrs. Lois Owens of Many, and Mrs. Maud Pilcher of Zwolle. Pallbearers were H. V. Hyatt, Hardy Hopkins, Lawrence Hopkins, Davis Braud, Lewis Pilcher, and Wilbur Lee Salter.
