Survivors include his widow, Essie Hopkins of Florien; two sons, Vencent Charles Hopkins, and Jack Robert Hopkins Jr., both of Many; one daughter, Melissa Hopkins of Many; seven sisters, Mrs. Alvin Berens of Red Wood City, Calif., Mrs. Luther Shortnancy of Jonesboro, Ark., Mrs. N. E. Gibens of Ponchatoula, Mrs. Denton James of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mrs. Roy Wilson of Bossier City, Mrs. Owen Ridgdell of Ponchatoula, and Mrs. Phyllis Hyde of Houma; two brothers, Ralph Hopkins of Nevada, and Roy Hopkins of Mobile, Ala.; and his father, James Elmer Hopkins of Lake City, Ark. Funeral services were held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Thursday, July 20, at 3 p.m., with Bishop Glen Hardy officiating. Burial was in the Clearwater Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
