All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ** Mrs. Lurena Hopkins Mrs. Lurena Hopkins, 75, of Many, died in Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, on Tuesday, April 3, at 6:35 p.m., following a short illness. Funeral services were held at the Many First Baptist Church on Thursday, April 5, at 10 a.m. Dr. Rod Smith, church pastor, and Dr. G. Earl Guinn officiated. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Survivors include two sons, Malcolm Hopkins of Kenner, and Robert Hopkins of Decatur, Alabama; two daughters, Mrs. Joan Pickett of Many, and Mrs. Nellie Cook of Florien; two brothers, Joseph Durrett of Florien, and William Durrett of Plainview; one sister, Annie Norsworthy of Irving, Texas; 14 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Mike Cook, Jimmy Cook, James Cook, Jr., John Pickett, James Pickett, Robert Pickett, Richard Hopkins, and Mark Hopkins. Honorary pallbearer was Mr. H. V. Hyatt.
