Mrs. Lurena Hopkins

  Mrs. Lurena Hopkins, 75, of Many, died in Schumpert Medical
Center in Shreveport on Tuesday, April 3, at 6:51 p.m., following
a short illness.

  Funeral services were held at the Many First Baptist Church on
Thursday, April 5, at 10 a.m. Dr. Rod Smith, church pastor, and
the Rev. Earl Guinn officiated. Burial was in the Antioch
Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
Her grandsons, served as pallbearers.

  Survivors include two sons, Malcolm Hopkins of Kenner, and
Robert Hopkins of Decatur, Alabama; two daughters, Mrs. Joan
Pickett of Many, and Mrs. Nellie Cook of Florien; two brothers,
Joseph Durrett of Florien, and William Durrett of Plainview; one
sister, Annie Norsworthy of Irving, Tex.; one half sister, Mrs.
H. V. Hyatt of Florien; 14 grandchildren, and 5 great
grandchildren.
