Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 27, at First Baptist Church of Florien, with interment following at Antioch Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Franklin officiated. Mr. Hopkins was a WWII veteran, and a deacon of the First Baptist Church of Florien. He retired from the La. Machinery Co. He was also in the CC Camp in Bellwood. Survivors include his widow, Elizabeth B. Hopkins of Florien; two daughters, Mary Beard, and Ann Hopkins, both of Vidalia; two sons, Hardy Jr. and wife Mary Ellen Hopkins of Prairieville, and Thomas and wife Bonnie Hopkins of Benton, Ill.; one brother, J. K. Hopkins of Florien; three sisters, Willie Horn of Many, Myrtle Moore of Athens, and Jackye Pruitt of Florien; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
