Hogue, age 67, died suddenly last Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. He had been in ill health for some time. The deceased was a son of one of the oldest settlers of Many, and the late A. H. Hogue. He was one of the early merchants of Many and acquired quite a lot of property which is now valuable town additions, The McNeely block in the business section of the town was once the property of Mr. Houge. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Methodist church, with the pastor, W. T. Gray, conducting the services. Interment was in Many cemetery. Mr. Hogue is survived by one brother, A. N. Hogue of Lufkin, Texas; three sisters, Ms. Lula French of Lufkin, Texas, Mrs. Eugena Prothro, Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Annie Jones of Shreveport.
