Hayes, 85, of Virginia Hall Nursing Home in Shreveport, died Sunday, April 15, at 6:05 p.m., in the nursing home, after a long illness. A native of Marthaville, he had lived in Shreveport five years. The funeral was held at 2 p.m., in Lewis Chapel Church near Marthaville, with the Revs. Rodney Duron, Lonnie Treadway, and James Henderson officiating. Burial followed in Old Pisgah Cemetery near Marthaville, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Survivors include two sons, Floyd Hayes of Mansfield, and Marzell Hayes of Shreveport; two daughters, Cleo Lewis of Marthaville, and Lanita Davis of Shreveport; one sister, Jennie Mae Owens of San Augustine, Tex.; two brothers, J. C. Hayes of Marthaville, and Lee Hayes of Leesville; seven grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
