All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ** Floyd Sexton Hayes Funeral services for Mr. Floyd Sexton Hayes, 73, of Mansfield, were held Sunday, July 25, 1993, at 3 p.m., in Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. Officiating was Rev. Patrick Cobb, Rev. James Henderson, Rev. Charles Duncan, and Dr. Arnold Nelson. Interment was in Highland Cemetery. Mr. Hayes died July 24, 1993, in Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport. He was born in Sabine Parish, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and was a sales representative for many years, at Nabors Trailers, before retiring in 1981. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School, and was ordained as a Deacon, April 28, 1974. He is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Marjorie Hatcher Hayes of Mansfield; two sisters, Cleo Lewis of Marthaville, Lanita Davis of Shreveport; and one brother, Marzelle Hayes of Shreveport; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were his nephews, Wayne Lewis, James Davis, Gilbert Hayes, Russell Hatcher, Martin Hatcher, and Steve Baker. Honorary pallbearers were Deacons of Emmanuel Baptist Church. The family wishes to offer special thanks to Schumpert Cancer Center, and Drs. Christopher McDonald, and Alan Borne, as well as the nursing staff. Memorials may be made to Schumpert Cancer Center.
