Officiating was Dr. James Hill, pastor of First Baptist Church of Blanchard. Burial was held in Warren Cemetery in Many. Mr. Hayes died Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born in Shreveport, and was a resident of Blanchard. Mr. Hayes was an industrial mechanic for U. O. P., a member of First Baptist Church of Blanchard, and served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall Hayes. He is survived by his wife, Dianne Lowery Hayes; son, Daniel Hayes; daughter, Jessica Hayes; mother, Bobbie Ashby Hayes, all of Blanchard; grandfather, Jeff Hayes of Many; grandmother, Gladys Ashby of Blanchard; sisters, Marsha Richie, and Lisa Keen; brother, Steve Hayes, all of Blanchard; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Gene Nix, Norris Scott, Kevin Young, Steve Whitaker, Tim Simms, Curt Leder, Larry Bell, Steve Prator, Ed Jerry, and Jimmy Attaway. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of First Baptist Church of Blanchard.
