All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ** Joshua Paige Hicks Funeral services for Joshua Paige Hicks were held Sunday, Nov. 5, at 3 p.m., in the Chapel at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches. The Rev. Lamar Joy, and the Rev. Jerry Penfield officiated. Burial followed in the Fort Jesup Cemetery near Many. Serving as pallbearers were Roger Prewitt, Jimmy Haymon, Jon Haymon, C. M. Avery Jr., Johnny Sullivan, Cal Qualls, Jeff Rachal, and Bill Hurt. Joshua, 14, of Natchitoches, died at L.S.U. Medical Center in Shreveport, Friday, Nov. 3. Josh, the son of Paul Hicks and Ruth Harris, was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Many. He loved the out-of-doors, and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and camper. He also loved golfing, and was a faithful fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a student at St. Mary's in Natchitoches. Survivors include his father, Paul Hicks of Sweetwater, Tex.; his mother, Ruth Ann Haymon Harris of Natchitoches; one sister, Brittni Nicole Nilson of Dallas, Tex.; five brothers, Payton Harris, Jed Harris, and Jordan Harris, all of Natchitoches, Zacharie Paul Scott, and Nathan Stuart of Abilene, Tex.; a paternal grandfather, B. S. Hicks of Sulphur; paternal grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. C. M. Avery of Sandersville, Georgia; paternal great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Q. Dew of Many; and maternal grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. Arthur Haymon of Robeline.
