All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ** Mr. James Franklin Hayes Mr. James Franklin Hayes, 75, died Monday, Nov. 9, at Willis Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Zwolle First Baptist Church, with interment following at Zwolle Cemetery. Masonic graveside services were conducted. The Rev. Jerry Penfield, Dr. Vernon Stephenson, and the Rev. Marshall Ingle officiated. Mr. Hayes was retired from Rowan Companies, where he worked for many years as a welder. He was an active choir member, a deacon at Zwolle First Baptist Church, and was an executive board member of District Eight of the Louisiana Baptist Convention. Mr. Hayes also enjoyed his service with the Sabine Camp of the Gideons International. He was a 50 year member of the Many Lodge #411 F. and A.M., the Zwolle Lodge #302, and the H. D. Anderson Lodge at Noble. In addition, he belonged to the Vernon Chapter #51 Royal Arch Masons, the Fullerton Council of Cryptic Masons, Leesville Council #26, and Rhodes Commandery #17, Leesville. He has served in many capacities at these lodges, including past District Deputy Grand Master of the Eight Masonic District. Survivors include his widow, Frances Pruitt Hayes of Zwolle; daughter and son-in-law, Sheryl and Travis Wilson of Zwolle; daughter, Pat Hayes of Shreveport; granddaughter, Clarie Jarzabek; and grandson, J. J. Jarzabek of Shreveport; three grandsons, David Wilson and wife Adriane of Converse, Scott Wilson of Marshal, Texas, and Christopher, and Michael Wilson of Zwolle; one great grandson, Bryce David Wilson; one brother, W. E. Hayes and wife Mildred of Many; one sister, Nelwyn Hayes Bush and husband Ralph of Corinth, Miss.; and many relatives and friends. Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Beulah Hardy Hayes; one brother, Mack Hayes Jr.; and one granddaughter, Amy Elizabeth Wilson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zwolle First Baptist Church, Gideons International, or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Garland Miller, Rhonda, and their staff, and also to the nursing staff at Willis Knighton Medical Center for their compassionate and professional care of Mr. Hayes during his illness.
