Sam Hughes

  Services for Mr. Sam Hughes, 84, of Bossier City, were held at
10 a.m., Thursday, December 2, at the First Christian Church in
Kilgore, Texas. Burial was in Kilgore City Cemetery. Arrangements
were under the direction of Boone Funeral Home at Bossier City.

  Mr. Hughes, a former resident of Many, died Tuesday, November
30, 1982, at Willis Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport. Mr.
Hughes had lived with his daughter in Bossier City for the past
two years. He was a charter member of the First Christian Church
of Kilgore, Texas.

  Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his wife, Esther. He is
survived by his daughter, Rhita Burton of Bossier City, and Ruby
Welch of Lewiston, Idaho; son Jerry Hughes of Arlington, Tex.;
sister, Violet Settles of Naylor, Mo.; four grandchildren; and
five great grandchildren.
