The Rev. Leo Beck officiated. Burial was at Springhill Cemetery. Mrs. Hughes died Sunday, January 6, 1985, in Springhill, after a long illness. She was born in Taylor, Ark., but had lived most of her life in the Springhill area, and was the former co-owner and vice president of Hughes Buick Co. in Springhill. She was a member of Springhill United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, and daughters-in-law, Grady Lavelle Jr. and Billie Hughes, and Charles Evans and Kay Hughes of Springhill; five sisters, Lydia Watts of Cleveland, Texas, Willie Dean Horn of Stamps, Ark., Vesta Clements of Atlanta, Texas, Elizabeth Stuart, and Margaret Knight of Taylor, Ark.; three brothers, Kilmer Pickler of Zwolle, La., W. E. Pickler, and Wayne Pickler of Taylor, Ark.; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Kelsie Putman, Cecil Miller, Jack McMurtry, G. R. Stuart, Richard Hughes, and Troy Beavers.
