Rev. Thomas L. Spears officiated. Mrs. Houston died suddenly, Sunday, May 31, at DeSoto General Hospital in Mansfield. Burial was in the New Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Gloster. She was a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church, where her brother, Rev. H. L. Dickerson is the pastor. She was a retired teacher, having taught in DeSoto Parish schools for 31 years. She was active in numerous associations, and affiliations. Her survivors are: two brothers, Rev. H. L. Dickerson, Gloster, and Mr. Lloyd Dickerson, Shreveport; three sisters, Mrs. Reda Henderson, and Mrs. Inez Blake of Shreveport, and Miss Beulah Dickerson, Oakland, Calif.; two step daughters, Mrs. Beatrice McCall, Mansfield, and Mrs. Gertrude Smith, Vallejo, Calif.; one aunt, Mrs. Carrie Lilly, Many; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends, in whose lives she played a very important role.
