Mrs. Annie Dickerson Houston

  Funeral services were held for Mrs. Annie Dickerson Houston, 79,
of Mansfield, Saturday, June 6, of Northwest Auditorium in
Mansfield. Rev. Thomas L. Spears officiated.

  Mrs. Houston died suddenly, Sunday, May 31, at DeSoto General
Hospital in Mansfield. Burial was in the New Bethlehem Baptist
Church Cemetery in Gloster.

  She was a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church, where her
brother, Rev. H. L. Dickerson is the pastor. She was a retired
teacher, having taught in DeSoto Parish schools for 31 years. She
was active in numerous associations, and affiliations.

  Her survivors are: two brothers, Rev. H. L. Dickerson, Gloster,
and Mr. Lloyd Dickerson, Shreveport; three sisters, Mrs. Reda
Henderson, and Mrs. Inez Blake of Shreveport, and Miss Beulah
Dickerson, Oakland, Calif.; two step daughters, Mrs. Beatrice
McCall, Mansfield, and Mrs. Gertrude Smith, Vallejo, Calif.; one
aunt, Mrs. Carrie Lilly, Many; and a host of nieces, nephews,
other relatives, and close friends, in whose lives she played a
very important role.
