All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ** Earthy Howard Hightower Funeral services for Mr. Earthy Howard Hightower were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 27, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Rev. Clois Rogers, pastor, officiated. Interment followed in New Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Hightower died Tuesday, July 23, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, with his wife and daughter in attendance. He was born to Phee Hightower, and Elizabeth Palmer on September 21, 1986, in Fisher. In April of 1917, he married Celeste Garner. To this union were born two children. He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, where he served in the deacon board, and taught Sunday School for many years. For over fifty years, he barbered in Many, and is affectionately known to many friends as "Barber". Survivors include his loving wife, Celeste; his children, Joseph H. Hightower of Port Allen, and Evelyn Hightower Brisker of Cleveland, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Cecil Brisker; grandchildren, Betty Toliver of Pittsburg, Calif., Jolene Cranford of Houston, Texas, Charles Brisker of Durham, N C., Kathryne Gavins of Houston, Tex., Sandra Edwards of Cleveland, Ohio, Linda Faye Brown of Port Allen, and Wendell Hoard Hightower of Houston, Tex.; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandson, John-John; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
