Clois Rodgers. Interment was held in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hightower died August 4, 1993, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Many, on March 22, 1896, and resided there until her death. She was a retired business person and housewife. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Gladys Hightower of Port Allen; one daughter, Evelyn H. Brisker of Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, Robert Garner of Many; two grandsons, Charles Brisker of Durham, N. C., Wendell Hightower of Houston, Tex.; five granddaughters, Bettye Tolliver of Pittsburg, Calif., Jolene Crawford of Dallas, Tex., Katherine Cross of Pomona, Calif., Sandra Edwards of Cleveland, Ohio, Linda Brown of Port Allen; three sisters-in-law, Fannie Batiste of Oakland, Calif., Annie Garner of Baton Rouge, Ernestine Hightower of Cleveland, Ohio; twelve great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and devoted friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Myra Garner; husband, Earthy Hightower; son-in-law, Cecil Brisker; four sisters; and seven brothers.
