Van Hooser Services for Mrs. Lessie Mae Van Hooser, 9?, of Arcadia, was held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, at Conger's Funeral Home in Arcadia. The Rev. George York officiated. She died at Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston, Monday, April 25, 1983, after a short illness. Mrs. Van Hooser, a native of Grant Parish, was married to Edd Van Hooser on April 12, 1911. She was a longtime resident of Claiborne Parish, and a member of Bethel Methodist Church in the Hurricane Community. She is survived by her husband, Edd Van Hooser; four daughters, Clarice Bramlett of Arcadia, Avis Valentine of Dixie, La., Marie McGhee of Maryville, Tenn., and Shirley McMillin of Carthage, Miss.; two sons, Murry L. Van Hooser of Ruston, and Murriel Van Hooser of Dallas, Texas; she is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Loy Evans, and Mrs. Lucille Evans, both of Bossier City; and two brothers, Eben Chandler of Athens, La., and Clarence Chandler of Zwolle; a daughter, Gladys Abercrombie preceded her in death. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Hurricane Cemetery, under the direction of Conger's Funeral Home.
