Hazard, 65, of Lake Charles, were held Thursday, June 18, 1987, at 10 a.m., in the Ardoin Funeral Home in Ville Platte. Father Jay Voorhies officiated. Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Ville Platte. Mr. Hazard passed away Tuesday, June 16, at 10 p.m., in the Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Ms. Nella Hazard of Lake Charles; one son, Charles Hazard of Many, La.; and two sisters, Ms. Alyce Holbert, and Ms. Adron Gibson, both from San Angelo, Texas. A native of Wellington, Texas, Mr. Hazard had lived in Lake Charles for 39 years. He was former owner and operator of a service station, and an instructor of mechanics at Ascension Voc-Tech, and Sowela Tech School of Lake Charles. A graduate of Lake Charles High, he attended McNeese State University. He was a member of the Catholic Church, and an Army Veteran of World War II. Pallbearers were Glenn LaFleur, David Fontenot, Sam Johnson, Carl McGee, Doug Fontenot, and Paul Fontenot. Funeral services were under the direction of Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte.
