"Lou" Hutzler, Jr. Memorial services were held for Mr. L. M. "Lou" Hutzler Jr., on March 29, at Shadow Landing on Toledo Bend Lake. At 2 p.m., March 31, at the First Baptist Church in Bunkie, La., Rev. Lee Dickson, Dr. Joe Kite, and Rev. Charles Hutzler officiated the services. Mr. Hutzler, 68, passed away at Sabine Medical Center on March 27, 1994. He is survived by his wife, Nelda Van Veckhoven Hutzler of Many; stepdaughter, Tammie Ferguson of Phoenix, Ariz.; stepson, Randy Ferguson of Many; two step grandchildren, Krissi Ferguson, and Cindi Rivers, both of Zwolle; four sisters, Dolly Simpson of Alexandria, Janey Afeman of Baton Rouge, Mildred Blalock of Alexandria, and Mary Leigh Hunt of Carencro; brother, Wilson Hutzler of Bunkie; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Chester and Marilyn Cormier and family, and Bobby and Jean Rogers and family. Mr. Hutzler was a member of the VFW, was retired from the U.S. Navy, and was a lifetime member of the DAV. He was a dedicated fisherman.
