Hatcher Services for Mr. Shuford Hatcher, 61, of Converse, La., were held at 4 p.m., Friday, Sept. 25, at Union Springs Baptist Church. Officiating was Rev. Newton Smith, and Rev. Larry Solice. Burial was at Union Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath's Funeral Home of Mansfield. Mr. Hatcher died September 23, 1987, at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home in Shreveport, La. He was born December 22, 1925, in Converse, La. he was a member of Union Springs Baptist Church, and owned and operated Mansfield Sheet Metal for thirty years. He is survived by his wife, Patricia O. Hatcher of Converse; sons, Gary C. Messina of Lake Charles, and Robert L. Hatcher of Converse; daughters, Sharon Kay Gulett of Mt. Sterling, Ky., and Cynthia Ann Hatchery of Converse; one brother, Hulon Hatcher of Converse; two sisters, Mary Smith of Stonewall, and Imogene Moton of the Hunter Community; three grandsons; two granddaughters; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Matthew Gulett, Rodney Hatcher, Sherman Page Sr., Buford Rascoe, William Ryals, and Roy Moton.
