John Lindsey Hittell

  John Lindsey Hittell, 80, of Belmont, died at Fraser Hospital on
Monday, Dec. 19, at 11:30 p.m., following an extended illness.

  Hittell is survived by his widow, Thelma Holt Hittell of
Belmont; three sons, John Hittell of Alameda, Calif., Jack
Hittell of Puerto Rico, and Jim Hittell of California; one
daughter, Marie Tynes of Paradise, Calif.; one sister, Elizabeth
Hittell of Belen, New Mexico; 5 grandchildren, and 5 great
grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held on Thursday, Dec. 22, at the Belmont
Baptist Church. Burial was in the Belmont Cemetery, under the
direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
