Holt, 82, of Shreveport, was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 4, in Wellman's Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. W. D. "Step" Martin, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. Holt, the widow of Samuel A. Holt, died at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 31, in Doctor's Hospital, after a short illness. She was a native of Many, and lived in Shreveport since 1940. Mrs. Holt was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Southern Hills Chapter 213 Eastern Star Lodge, Hebron White Shrine 6, and Faith Lodge Ladies Auxillary. Survivors include five daughers, Joy Gibson of Shreveport, Mrs. John Hittell of Belmont, Mrs. Fred Patrick of Biloxi, Miss., Mrs. R. E. Brown of Kingman, Ariz., and Mrs. Henry Van Nest of DeRidder; three sisters, Mrs. Matie Risor, and Ruby Ryne, both of Many, and Mrs. Ben Gargis of Decanter, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Rodney Masters, John Lane, Randy Troutman, Terry DeLatin, Curtis Graves, and Frank Risor. Burial was in Centuries Park Cemetery.
