All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ** Charles Jack Holt Marshall, Tex. - Services for Charles Jack Holt, 65, were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 1, 1995, at Travis Street Chapel of the Sullivan Funeral Home, Marshall, Texas. Mr. Holt died at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 28, 1995, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas, after a sudden illness. He was born October 8, 1929, in Marthaville, La., to Melvin and Nannie Holt. Mr. Holt received his education in the Robeline, La. Public Schools, and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Texas and Pacific Union Pacific Railroad in the Track Department for 40 years. He was a Methodist, and was president of the local Association of Retarded Citizens. He is survived by his wife, with whom he celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on October 15, 1994, Dessie Mae Rails Holt; one daughter, Karen Beth Holt, both of Marshall; two brothers, Donald Glenn Holt of Sedro Wooley, Wash., and Rev. Melvin Ray Holt of Luling, La.; three sisters, Lola Ruth Donaho, Blanchard, La., Lettie Marie Freeman, Robeline, La., and Tommie Louise Sylvest of Marshall, Tex.; two sisters-in-law, Annie Rae and J. L. Nelson of Pleasant Hill, La., and Elva Paddie of Tioga, La. and James Nelson; and many nieces and nephews he loved. Pallbearers were Mike Holt, Gerald Freeman, Billy Donaho, James Nelson, Glenn Holt, and David Holt. Honorary pallbearers will be Sabine Valley Vocation Center Workshop. Memorial contributions may be given to the Association of Retarded Citizens, or the charity of choice.
